- To be fair I don't think there was ever a point in Leroy's life where "the world was his oyster". Maybe things might have been a little brighter before he married Loretta but I can't imagine him ever being in a fortunate situation in his entire life. Loretta probably means by her comment that Leroy avoids all the potential opportunities in life like someone with a shellfish allergy would avoid oysters. Or maybe it's more literal and she poisoned Leroy's food, thus putting him into anaphylactic shock. Either way, Loretta gets the point and leads 1-0.
- I do wonder what sort of confessions would Leroy make every week in the booth. If he has enough self awareness he should first knock off extreme sloth, then excessive anger at Loretta and generally the world, and then maybe throw in some light coveting of other women. Leroy's priest seems more than willing to help him recall all of his recent transgressions. Leroy may be in for some serious Hail Mary assignments. It's a push as Loretta maintains her 1-0 advantage.
- Leroy could not have been anymore flagrant in his objectification of Loretta. His comment here comes off as particularly effective since it hits in two ways. The objectification of Loretta as a car gives Leroy the sexism angle, but characterizing her has a car in need of repairs cruelly slaps her on a personal level. It's a macro and mirco insult; well played. If Leroy wants to start catching up, he'll have to start bring out A list material like this with greater frequency. Leroy scores the point and the day is tied 1-1.
- This one barely registers as a joke. The only thing that distinguishes her insult from just a request to leave the food court is her decision to phrase it like a legal court request...hilarious. I almost gave the point to Leroy here since he was the one annoying Loretta with his dawdling at the food court, but I figured she was breaking up his fun by making them go shopping; and there is no doubt in my mind that she will make Leroy get up from that table to go shopping. Loretta edges out the point, the score is 2-1 Loretta.
- I don't know what the ethical rules of marriage counseling are but Pullman is certainly pretty open when it comes to showing off dysfunctional freak show that his the Lockhorns. He particularly likes to display the Lockhorns at their worst to his receptionist while making complaints about his job. Despite the apparent futility of it all, the Lockhorns must think they're making some sort of progress since they keep playing to see him. It's a push, which means Loretta holds on for the 2-1 Sunday victory.
